I rarely write reviews, but after what is probably my 10th installation, I decided I should. Whenever I do side projects, these are the only camera kits I recommend to my customers to buy online. The video quality is great, the kits are inexpensive, and everything works! From the camera to the phone app to the laptop app, I haven’t had any problems or returned them for anything that didn’t work. The only downside, and I won’t take away a star, is the length of the cord. While it can be annoying at times to have to extend the cabling, when doing an installation I know the cables may not be long enough so I am always prepared. Not all kits come with wire, so the fact that I don’t have to charge extra for the wire is a good thing for the customer, at worst I have to extend it 20-40 feet, which still saves wire in the long run. If manufacturers are reading this, please make the cable at least 100 feet (but only if it doesn’t make you jack up the price)

The camera system works well and is easy to set up. The app works well and the only feature I would add to the app is the ability to adjust the camera motion sensitivity. I also bought the fully wireless camera. That system doesn’t work as well as this one.

Installed six of these camera systems for homes and businesses with no problems. The system was easy to install and configure. The video is very clear and the night video is good. The motion detection works well too. Video recorded on a 2TB system with all 8 cameras can only be stored for less than a week. The camera needs to be set to “record motion only” to store video for longer periods of time. The system does not come with a camera mounting box. If you wish to conceal the camera harness, you will need to purchase a separate mounting box. Overall, a decent security camera system at a reasonable price.

I needed to replace an old video surveillance system and this seemed reasonably priced. The system being replaced is a 4-channel 720p poe system with a 500gb drive that costs as much as the current system. With double the resolution, four times the storage was obvious. About a day later I noticed a deal for a pair of 5MP cameras which were ordered to increase my coverage. the image quality of both the 4 and 5MP cameras was very good during the day and infrared at night. I have very few questions about this system.
1. The network cable that comes with the system is not what I would use. The end of the cable is too big to fit through the weatherproof cover. After cutting off the end I found the wire inside was as soft as spaghetti which made connecting the new end even more difficult. I would recommend using some good quality Cat 5e or Cat 6 wire instead of the wire provided for you. 2.
2. The camera mounting screws, although they can be mounted to plasterboard or smooth plaster, will break if you screw them into wood. Purchase some good quality wood screws for mounting the camera.
3. If you have set up an nvr system before, the NVR setup is straightforward. If not ask someone with experience to point you in the right direction. As a side note, nvr assigns IP addresses to poe-connected cameras on their own network segment. This is good because your home network is not overwhelmed by camera traffic. 4.
4. the remote software on your phone and computer is easy for anyone to set up.
5. After installing the NVR and six cameras I was impressed enough to order the RLC-423 PTZ camera, but it still needs to be installed and will be reviewed separately later.
6. The NVR requires a power switch.
Very good value for money. Several of my cameras are on my internal network, 2 of which are connected via WIFI. the NVR has found zero problems with them. Setup is very easy and the unit runs quietly. Long term storage, old overlay files are simple and work well.

If I knew what I know now, I would have bought the 16CH 8 camera pack and bought 2 or 4 extra cameras.
Now I need to buy the 16CH NVR to upgrade my system.

Excellent results for home and property monitoring. Nicely packaged kit, plug and play. After reviewing the quick start sheet I was a little concerned that I wouldn’t be able to connect to the camera via my local WiFi extended network as I rolled out 400 feet from home. The quick start sheet only shows the router connected to the Ethernet port of your phone, tablet or PC. The support team were quick to reassure me it would work before I opened the package. Now working on how to scale the camera down to a set level for recording.

Great value for money NVR. Setup was a breeze. I have another “cheaper” NVR and am replacing it. I have all the Cat5 cables connected, all I have to do is replace the cameras, replace the NVR box and the POOF starts working. The NVR detected that all the cameras were OK, all I had to do was configure the camera names and motion detection sensitivity, other than that it was plug and play. I had a little problem with the NVR itself, but the support was responsive and everything was squared away. I liked it so much I bought an additional PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera, the RLC-423, for the system. Everything works well.

I had this camera system installed a few months ago. It took me about a week as running the Ethernet cable was the most difficult part of the installation.
Make sure you buy the cat6 cable separately as the cable that comes with it does not work properly. I had 3 cameras using the cat6 cable and another using the cat5e cable that came with it. Both cables have the same video quality, but there is a noticeable lag between the cameras. The supplied cat5e cable has a delay of about 1.5 seconds to the NVR, while the cat6 cable I purchased has a delay of 0.5 seconds to the NVR. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
Overall, the camera quality is good for the price of the whole system. I send Front Door motion recordings to an FTP server on my home network. It has excellent video quality during the day, but night vision could be improved. It is difficult to recognise faces at night.
Overall, if you want a security camera system that is not too expensive but has good video quality, you should go with this or the 5MP security camera system.

The sensor and visibility are great. But if you want clear vision when zooming in, don’t let it reach the maximum ……100 feet, keep it at 80 feet or less. Other than that it’s fantastic.

I bought it about a year ago and it is still working well. I have even added a 5mp, a 4k PTZ and bullet 4k cameras. It works very well, especially with the firmware updates for the NVR and cameras. It withstood the weather in SE Texas no problem. Rain, heat, humidity, and even continued during the winter freeze. The only time I lost camera connection was when a lightning strike *really* was nearby. Then they dropped for a few seconds, but always came back.

There aren’t many options on the market for Ethernet-enabled home security cameras. I have cable at home so I wanted to take advantage rather than use inferior WiFi. So far these have not disappointed! Quality pictures and features. Can you get better pictures and get Nest? Yes, but you pay more and lose the stability of Ethernet for a better picture. Would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for a wired camera.

I love my video surveillance system, I can see what is going on in my house even when I am not at home. I see my dog running around to chase the cat away. When I hear noises at night I don’t look outside, I just click on the app on my phone to see who’s outside. What I like most is that you can rewind the video and see what happened a week ago. Updated my NVR to the latest firmware based on model and hardware version, the update seems to install fine then the NVR reboots after the update and once rebooted the NVR is stuck on the logo. :(( Very disappointing, will update the review if this issue is corrected. Update: quick replacement for my NVR, be careful updating your firmware but if in stock it’s a good camera setup, customer service is 10/10

The system is easy to set up even for novices …… Each camera does not need a separate power supply as they are powered via the included 60′ cable Ethernet …… The cameras are sturdy …… I ended up buying an extra one for this setup as there are 8 Ethernet ports for 8 cameras so the system is scalable …… It currently takes about a week and 1/2 or 2 to fill a 2TB hard drive, so if there is any video you wish to save the content can easily be cropped and then downloaded to a USB drive…

The daytime resolution is fantastic …… and of course the night vision is great in the absence of bad weather …… The microphone is great and when the car is driving through it is very loud, OKI wouldn’t say they are great so keep that in mind If you are playing sound through your TV or stereo The system plays sound ……
We do get email notifications but not push notifications yet …… I really created a separate email account for this hard drive to send me the messages it sends so that I don’t have to filter through the hundreds of notifications I will explain in the downside ……
The price is right and I think anyone who buys this product will be happy, but there are negatives here ……
If you live in an area that is prone to a lot of fog, your night vision will be greatly reduced, as I doubt any night vision camera would be …… Fog will definitely accentuate any light around and these cameras don’t do well in bright light …… unless you have a thermal imaging camera I doubt anything can be seen through thick fog ……
The biggest disappointment for me is that even if I use the edit tool to block certain areas that I don’t want detected it won’t stop it, no matter what settings I’ve tried it won’t stop the car headlights giving me false alarms. …… This is why I have a separate email account that is not used for my email notifications …… This is really my biggest complaint about the system is that its sensitivity level does not dim the headlights even from a 45? angle, which I suspect is because I live in a very dark place and the sudden change in lighting is the cause of it ……
What you see in the picture is what you get now, keep in mind that you can adjust the contrast and brightness of the night vision to suit your needs if you want to turn off the IR lighting on the camera as much as possible but it will just give you a very dark view and still start moving ……
All in all I would recommend this and I have recommended it to my neighbours, it is a solid system and I think the only thing I would like to do is to be able to expand the memory so if I do this again I will probably get the 4TB hard drive…
The interface is very easy to use and uncomplicated and you can assign the camera to any socket you want, highly recommended if you are considering or hesitating.

This is as simple a setup as possible. You really just use a cable from the camera to the VCR and then connect your NIC to your router and then you follow the prompts and run …… The biggest complaint is that in night mode the license plate is completely washed out by the IR emitter . The motion setting is very sensitive and I get constant notifications even on the lowest setting.

The cables are too short and too long so if you plan to make your own, have a roll of cables and some headers and customise them. The included ones are great for testing everything and then replacing them with custom lengths when you can!
